Check Alert Status

Open Settings, then Timer Preferences, which opens the Rest Timer screen. Alert Status tells you whether Grain Gym can alert you in the background. If it shows a problem, tap Open Settings to go to your phone's notification settings.

On iPhone, turn on notifications for Grain Gym. On Android, turn on notifications and the Rest Timer channel.

Test it

Tap Test Full Alert on the same screen. You should hear the sound and feel the vibration you've chosen. If you don't, check the Vibration switch and the Timer Sound choice just above it.

Check the timer settings

Auto-start Timer, on by default, starts the timer when you log a set. If it never starts, make sure that switch is on.

The Rest choice under Settings, then Workout display, only changes what you see while the timer runs (Off, Bar or Full screen). The sound and vibration fire in every mode, so Off isn't why it was silent.

Check your phone

Do Not Disturb, Focus and sleep modes can silence the alert. Allow Grain Gym in the mode you train under, or turn the mode off for one session. Battery saver can also stop background alerts when the screen locks, so allow Grain Gym to run in the background and test again.

If it still fails, email [email protected] with your phone model, the operating system version, and what happened. The Troubleshoot rest timer link on the Rest Timer screen brings you back here.
