Backup vs sync
A backup is a snapshot you restore on purpose. Sync between devices isn't available yet, so a backup is how you move data.
Every set you log is written to your phone first. A weak signal in the gym doesn't slow the next set, and nothing waits on a server.
Your workouts, programs, history, records and settings all start on the device. That includes the weight, reps and RPE for each set, plus the program week and day you're on.
You can train without an account. Signing in lets you use Back Up to Account, which keeps a copy you can restore on a new phone. Backup vs sync covers backups and where sync stands.
Settings, then Backup & Restore, can export everything as a JSON file you can restore later, or as a CSV for a spreadsheet. The CSV can't be restored into the app. Keep a copy of the JSON somewhere you trust.
Delete All Data in your profile wipes everything from the device. Delete Account, for signed-in users, removes your account and its cloud data as well. Both are in the Danger Zone of your profile, and the delete-account page covers removal if you no longer have the app.
